Exterior

Cracked and broken,

Render flaking,

Shut yet open,

Faded, baking.

Map of peeling

Plastered fracture.

Window gazing,

Bars that capture.

Doorway stubborn,

Hardened Shell,

Outer cordon

I know so well.

Brave the threshold,

Bin the bars,

Abate the mould,

Stoke the hearth.

Abstract mirror -

A wall without,

Echoes clearer

Life’s grit ‘n’ grout.
